Lorri, I'm sorry you have to have another surgery. That's something in the back of all our minds. Best wishes to you for success.
Rose echos my thoughts exactly. For those of us with a tissue valve, the possibility of a repeat surgery is always out there. Hope you have a smooth and uncomplicated surgery!
Thank you! The reason I am taking the bio prosthetic is because I will be able to have TAVR if I ever need one again.
Thank you! On top of everything else I tested positive for Covid on 8/29 for the 3rd time. I thought it was allergies. Thank God I got it before the surgery! One less thing to worry about. I have my PCR @ Columbia on 9/12.
I am sorry you must have another surgery! At least you got 12 years out of the repair, and next time will be a TAVR. And Covid on top of that! Better Covid before than after the surgery!! Wishing you a perfectly smooth experience!

I have a bicuspid aortic valve. It was 9 years ago yesterday that I had a aortic valve repair for severe aortic regurgitation. I also had an aortic graft for my aneurysm. Now my valve is moderate to severely stenotic and I will need a new valve. Can TAVR be... Read more.
My guess is yes, they can do a TAVR. Do you have an appointment coming soon so you can find out for sure?
