Lisa, waiting is the hardest part for the vast majority of us. Stay BUSY! Research more but control when you do it — don’t do before bedtime, for instance. You will control what you can control, give the rest to God and roll into surgery with a plan and a focus. Somehow it happens here. Welcome to the waiting room! I am having the same issue: uncontrollable anxiety! I hate waiting and wondering and so I keep reading and watching and researching and I like being informed, but I also just want to KNOW when things are going to happen, so I get it. I have been doing meditation apps at night and breathing exercises. I have my first appt with the surgeon on March 18 and am compiling my two million questions! <3

Lisa yes the waiting game is the worst. I had my echo done by my primary doctor and then they sent me my test results and left a note saying I have an issue with my valve and aorta. I was told I am going to have to wait to meet with my cardiologist a week and a half later. So then I decided to play doctor and go through my test results and figure out what was wrong. While googling and thinking I have minutes to live everyday I was freaking out why am I not getting more tests. I wanted more answers cause I did not want to die. I forced them into getting me in early for an MRA and CT scan. Thinking I would be going to surgery any day. All tests done and met with a Surgeon and Cardiologist. They said to me there is no emergency to get it done immediately but you have to do it sometime so just lets look at middle of April. I guess yes in the long run pushing myself into the door to get tests done was only making me feel better cause I would get more results, but also caused me to be more anxious. I am the same way as you and Claire as in lets go! I have an issue fix me up doctor. Best thing is be patient with the process and talk to your medical team. You are going to be just fine! You will get your tests done and be back to waiting again to get the results. And then they may ask for another test and then waiting again. The worst thing is google for stuff like this. So just patient and trust the process. I guess it did take me a few weeks to get to the patient part but it will come.

I found out I had a heart issue 1 month ago from today so this site has been the greatest thing for giving me hope. Lots of stories, great people to talk to, and so much information on all that we are going through. Hope you find it as useful as I have as I deal with my journey.
