Today is my 2-year anniversary! I still get regular echoes, My mitral repair looks great but I have learned my tricuspid valve has started to leak a little more, but I feel great! My scar is a little pinker than I'd like but I think that's just my skin pigment.... Read more.

I had my surgery 18 months ago. My scar developed a keloid. It was a dark pink ridge. I just visited my dermatologist recently. She treated it with a steroid injection, and it’s already reduced it significantly. Just thought I’d put that out there in case others didn’t know about... Read more.

It does work and can be very helpful, however please talk with your dermatologist about taking the process slow and also ask about any possible effects. I did it, had one like every 6 weeks...3xs, and it was too powerful so that the skin thinned out so much you could... Read more.
Yikes Shannon. Glad everything turned out ok. I only had one injection. She told me to come back in a month if it wasn’t better. I think it’ll be good enough from what I’ve seen so far.
I developed a keloid also. I had the same treatment as Shannon and mine is finally flat. What Shannon describes is true, my dermatologist was very wary doing too many. thankfully, I did have 3 treatments but spread over a year so , the skin is ok, does feel thinner,... Read more.

Just had my 18 month echo today post mitral valve repair. Good news is the repair looks great. Not so good news is my tricuspid valve has gone from mild regurgitation to moderate regurgitation in a year’s time. My doctor said not to worry. By the time I need it... Read more.
Hey Lisa, I imagine this might have been quite difficult to hear. But, I think your doctor makes a really great point. Thanks so much for the encouraging words Adam. I just go back to when they told me at 50 that it would be a long time until my mitral needed repaired. Four years later I had OHS.
