Day 2 after surgery. Feeling nauseated and sore. Any advice for getting wires and tubes taken out? Is it painful?

If you are getting any narcotic pain meds, the Nausea can be a result of those meds. You can ask for an anti-nausea med like ondansetron (Zofran), and try to get by with Tylenol for pain. As far as the tubes and pacer wires out, I did not find that... Read more.
Hello Jennifer. I also experienced the nausea and soreness you speak of. Like Marie Myers suggested I immediately asked for Extra strength tylenol from the get go and found it gave me immediate relief. Try to be patient as the chest tubes will be removed soon. Marie gave you good... Read more.
Yes Zofran definitely helps with nausea. Don't fret over the wires. The good thing is that the removal process is quick.

So glad you posted. Congratulations! True about removal of tubes is quick and for me painless. Remember.......one thing at a time one day at a time. Take it easy and be patient with your body. Blessings
Chest tube was the worst of all of them, as it relates to healing. (worse than any pain after surgery)

2 more days to relax and treat yourself well...
Bummer, but it’s been happening to a few of our heart warriors. Just relax and keep your mind occupied. God’s timing is always perfect. Will be keeping you in prayer.
I know this feeling. The waiting is awful. I told myself someone needed my doctor more than me and i was happy to wait.
Thinking of you, today, and sending good wishes your way! ❤
