Hey everyone - I'm 18 months post-surgery and am on Metoprolol ER. not really having any crazy complications with it but just wondering how others are doing on it - gotten off of it - anything you can tell me. Hope I'm not on it forever. Thanks.
I've been taking it since surgery in 2021.A doctor said it was fairly benign, but read also, that it can make people feel tired. After telling a cardiologist that last week, the dose was cut in half, from 50 to 25mg and hopefully, will be more energetic.
Hi Bernie - I had nausea and headaches with the extended release so switched to 2X daily. Better, but still a bit of nausea and headache. My cardiologist recently switched me to atenolol, because I have had no problems with arrhythmia since my surgery, and I now have no more... Read more.
Thanks yall - . I see my cardiologist in October. See if I can't trim it back.....from 50 to maybe 25 mg. It is keeping my heart rate at a nice level - between 70-80. so we'll see. I think its been good for anxiety as well.....not so worried about... Read more.

I am like Marie in the 12.5 twice a day (cutting pills suck). i recently stopped the medicine (3 weeks). I monitor my heart BPM and pressure Daily. Both increase but the doctor is not concerned. I would rather not take the medicine.
I was prescribed Metoprolol a few years ago to lower my blood pressure, which it did. I have had no problems with it. After my TAVR, they discontinued it and my BP went way up and so did my heart rate. One week after TAVR, I was back in the... Read more.
I took 200 once a day before surgery ( after cardio version on my AFib). Post surgery, I stopped taking it. My cardiologist asked me whether I wanted to take some for protection purpose. I declined. By end of this month, it will be 4 months for me post surgery.... Read more.
I took metropolol for a year and didn't like it. It made me feel slow and depressed. So, I kept asking when I could stop it. I felt so good when I did. From one day to the next. Some people have no problem with metropolol but others do. It's... Read more.
