About Me

Hello everyone! This past fall my sister was admitted to hospital with a GI bleed. During the coarse of her stay they found a heart murmur which prompted an echo. Low and behold, severe aortic stenosis due to bicuspid valve. The family was in disbelief including me, a nurse. Well, as you all know, they recommend parents, siblings, and kids get checked out with an echo. My sister’s surgery was on November 30, 2020. She is doing fantastic! Well I was having a lot of back problems, herniated disc and spinal stenosis, so I put off getting an echo till I recovered from a radio frequency ablation on my spinal nerves. Guess what! Sister number 2!! I hated the thought that my sister had to go thru open heart. Not liking it much better for myself. I have not seen the surgeon yet (5/3) but he comes highly recommended and I know he highly supports this sight! I will keep you updated.
