Send Marilyn a NoteAbout Me
About four or five years ago I was first told I had a heart murmur. The Dr. seemed to think it was not a big deal. Then last year I had a small stroke. The ER diagnosed it as Bell's Palsey and sent me home with antiviral medication. After following up with other doctors to find the cause of the stroke I had tests including TEE and angiograms. Then I found out about my bicuspid valve and severe stenosis. I guess I was lucky in a way I had the stroke so that I found out what was going on with my heart.
I had been feeling out of breath when walking for some time. I was also told I had slight asthma so I figured it could be from that. My Dr. said my echoes showed now it's time for surgery.
I'm terrified to say the least. I am reading as much as I can and ordered Adam's book. Also having a hard time sleeping at night. The best thing was finding this site and seeing all the positive outcomes. I'm reading it every day. It gives me hope that I can get through this! I also can't wait to get to the other side. Thank you all so much for sharing your stories!
