UPDATE - Successful Ross Procedure completed on Oct 21, 2024, by Dr. Joseph Woo at Stanford Medical Center.
- 46 years old - bicuspid aortic valve with severe regurgitation.
- First diagnosed in 2000 at age 22, monitored periodically throughout the years.
- Regurgitation progressed from trace to severe over the course of 20 years.
- Left ventricle started enlarging about 2 years ago, and in July 2024 the interior diameter was at 6.9 cm. Cardiologist then referred me to a surgeon.
- In consulting with the surgeon, valve-sparing repair is not an option due to the anatomy of my aortic valve.
