Send Lynne a NoteAbout Me
Diagnosed with mild aortic stenosis in 2019. Monitored yearly and in 2023, my dr. determined it had jumped from moderate to severe in 1 year. Underwent a CAT scan and cardiac catheterization and they found my valve was bicuspid. Not a candidate for TAVR for several reasons and may need some repair to my aorta. I want either a mini-sternotomy or thoracotomy, neither of which local surgeons will do. Currently waiting to speak to a surgeon I was referred to at Stanford and researching other surgeon options. Going with the surgeon at Stanford although he cannot guarantee surgery will be minimally invasive. He feels he gets a better result when he has to replace a portion of the aorta if he has full access to the heart.
