I continue to encourage my son to join this wonderful community. And maybe he will. We certainly share with him a lot of what we learn on this amazing site. For now my wife and i participate here as parents. Our son is 19 y/o asymptomatic, healthy athlete who, as an infant, was diagnosed with a leaky bicuspid aortic valve. The consensus now among the surgeons and cardiologists we have met with this year is that the time is now. We hope for repair and our son continues to way tissue vs mechanical replacement as the second option.
