I've had a heart murmur since I was about 16 years old. At that time they said something like "oh you just grew too fast one summer", and no one has ever done much about it. Severely slowed down and switched to a new HMO I asked the PCP if someone shouldn't "look" at my heard. Father died at age 59 of massive heart attack; his mother died at age 58 of congestive heart failure/enlarged heart. She sent me for a Stress Echo. They easily visualized the "moderately severe aortic valve regurgitation" and the roller coaster ride began.....
