My Name is Jean Knappik I was diagnosed with a heart murmur around 12 years old. I have been seeing a cardiologist for my aortic valve...(I was born with a bicuspid valve instead of tricuspid) every six months and having yearly echo's for the past ten years and was told the valve is moderate to severe, but with no symptoms. Within the last nine months I have felt a difference happening, a little more winded. I want to be honest I feel absolutely petrified about having the surgery. I have not spoken to a surgeon yet, but I am currently trying to find someone with a good track record along with the hospital. If anyone has a name of a really good surgeon in the Philadelphia-Allentown area let me know or I am currently checking out Dr. Eric Roselli from the Cleveland Clinic. I like their success rates.
