Hii Paul, when you were first diagnosed in 2010; did you have an aneurysm? and has your aortic regurgitation progressed to moderate or severe in the past 13 years? the most sensitive test for aneurysm is cta. Echo is based on shadows. So i would trust ct images. how old... Read more.

Hi max, yes always had an alargement of the aorta, what was up for debate was the size throughout all these years. Still moderate regurgitation. Turning 50 this year

I also had echos that showed different measurements of my aorta. I was told that there’s a bit of ‘art’ in the science of reading echos and taking measurements. My surgeon ordered a CT with contrast a few weeks before my surgery. He considered that measurement the most reliable. I... Read more.
Just asked my Dr to order a CT with contrast to be sure of my measurements of my aortic anuerysm and my tricuspid valve that has been at moderate to severe for years. I have been so much more fatigued and tired lately. We will see what she says. Going... Read more.
I cancelled mine this month over concern about the dye they inject. After my january echo i will decide about a plan. I will mention my concern regarding my aneurism size while at the echo appointment. Its been 4.1 for awhile on echo. It never stops.
Hi Paul - I also had an echo showing my aneurysm at 5.4cm. and then a CT showing it at 4.7cm. My surgeon explained it as "the echo shows us flow and the CT shows us accurate measurements". But because my aortic stenosis was moderate to severe, my aneurysm greater... Read more.

Hello. I have also had a bicupid valve and aortic aneurysm. In my case it resulted in 2 different emergency open heart surgeries. I feel blessed and amazed by what people can make it through. My advice would be to try to hang in there and just do your best... Read more.
