Frank Wells, Cardiothoracic surgeon, Papworth Hospital (while operating) This transcript is from a live operation aired on channel 4 in the UK here is the link. http://www.channel4.com/explore/surgerylive/discuss4.html By the way i had the TOE or TEE without any sedation it was slightly uncomfortable but manageable ,so it could be helpful for the surgeon and Cardiologist with all this precise information .from a TOE test .I was in a ward where people were in 75+age and did very well ,but all your concerns should be discussed with your surgeon you choose and you should get reassurance to get all sorted. I went to Cardiologist as i thought i had indigestion and the Doctor wanted to rule out Heart problem it was diagnosed from Heart Murmur mitral valve prolapse from TOE ,i was expecting it too be indigestion ,i had a chronic cough laying down at night. only symptom so quite Asymptomatic.But sooner than later to get on with the surgery i beleive from my research.
