Thanks Ruth Joy, I probably caused some confusion how I posted. My original post was about having to need blood thinners for the mechanical valve, but I postponed that surgery and went with the Ross procedure.

Thank you. Sandy... yes I feel the first consult was a "this is what you do and that's it" approach rather than an education of options even if that facility didn't do the other options. Left me a little uneasy because I had read so much about other options that... Read more.

BTW Christopher, I dont know how far you are from Boston, being from CT, but, I did go to the Brigham and Womens.

well you cant go wrong then. they both have tremendous hospitals and so does CT.
