Just been wondering, alot of stories here are similar and to some degree so is mine. But I was wondering if there is anyone else who had sepsis that caused them to have surgery?
I've just read your story. Yes, I've had bacterial endocarditis and as result, my mitral valve became damaged and had to be replaced.
Fidel...it was bacteria..but to this day, i don't know how i got it. No surgery, no dental work...was feeling pain in my side at work..had to leave work early, vomited when I got home. I slept a bit and my wife took me to the hospital.

I found this website after my surgery. Unless you have gone through this I don't think you can relate. Nice to hear and see other people who have gone through it. Know you are not alone.

Thank you for sharing, for the hope and reassurance it gives and for being a first responder.
Thank you...sorry to hear about your son....just know that there are success stories here and I am sure he will be one of them.

Today, September 11, has been 4 years since my life saving surgery. I am very grateful for the 4 extra years, and I look forward to many more.

Congratulations and thank you for the good report. It's amazing to feel that we've been given extra years in this journey called life. Godspeed.
