One year ago today I went in for surgery to have my bicuspid valve replaced with a mechanical valve as well as replacing part of my ascending aorta due to an aortic aneurysm. I thank God for each and every day he gives me. I currently do waterslides, shoot hoops, play baseball, ride quads, mildly (I am on Warfarin), and plenty more. I ran a 5k, and most importantly, I get to spend time with my beautiful loving wife and our three children. For those of you preparing for your surgery, you're in good hands. Our doctors are some of the best in the world. When I catch myself worrying about my heart or health, I'm reminded of Matthew 6:27 - "Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life." Too True. Thinking of all who are going in this week. You're going to do great.
