I had surgery on 5/16/22, mechanical aortic valve and and aorta prosthesis. Had a CTA and was told I have moderate ectasia just above the prosthetic aortic valve. This makes no sense to me since the valve and the aorta prosthesis were all one piece. Am I just misunderstanding? Is... Read more.

IÂ´ve not but I I suppose the prosthesis of the aortic segment you are wearing attached to the mechanical valve could be made of dacron or a similar biomaterial. Then the ectasia would be above that segment and no towards the heart, in my opinion.

Year 3 anniversary , down 40 pounds from date of surgery. I love my life, there is NOTHING I would be doing differently. God is amazing.

Today is my second heartaversary from aortic valve and partial aorta replacement. The picture on the left is my one year anniversary, one on the right is my two year. Slimmed down a bit, no pain, no issues, life is great.
