Hi. I had mine done in june 2018. Mitral repair.lead to pericarditis.some level of heart failure. Atrial flutter and also afib. Its been an utterly miserable road with one problem and disappointment after another.i had an ablation for the flutter in november 2018. My heart has also recovering from 35% ejection fraction to aprox 50%. Im having afib ablation next month. Also had cardiomyopathy but that has become improved. The anxiety associated with thease issues has been very hard. I only went in for what is a routine valve repair and other than that was in very good health. I was not prepared for the problems ahead. Open heart surgery takes a huge toll on mental and physical health.i am improving but its been slow. I did not have afib now i do. I believe i should have been given a maize procedure but was not even considered so now i have to live with this over my head. I hope the ablation is successfull. And can try to get as much of me back as possible. You are not i believe the same after invasive surgery. I hope it goes well for yr recovery. Over time things improvekeep a close eye on yr symptoms and be very proactive with the docs or you can easilly be ignored.
