Sorry I was so delayed in providing an update. I had my surgery on August 26. My mitral valve was so far gone, it literally came off in one piece with just a nudge from the surgeon. Had a mechanical mitral valve inserted, and am presently going through the process... Read more.

The surgery is all set! Well, I have my surgery date. Thursday, August 26 at UCLA. Chief of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Dr. Richard Shemin will be doing the honors.
