John - I understand your concern. Stay optimistic - much to my initial surprise, I had mild regurgitation for decades before it progressed any further. Many people live with it their entire lives without any problems. I think a lot of mv repair patients have some, and the objective is... Read more.
I don’t believe that “mild” regurgitation is necessarily something that has to be fixed. What did your cardiologist say?
I know it can be frustrating but I agree with the others. I had mild regurgitation for most of my life. Don't worry unless it gets severe. Then I'd probably go with a different surgeon.

I pray you get some acceptance of your heart current issue. As you read here others have gone thru it again and they are still with giving other encouragement. Stay positive and find a new doctor. Lifting you in prayer for peace, acceptance and comfort.

So sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. Thinking of you.
John, I'm sure sorry to hear this! I know you're more than ready to be all healed up. Hoping you will be, very soon.
Sorry for the trouble. I had some symptoms like yours for quite awhile and was dx with post pericardiotomy syndrome. Colchicine and ibuprofen helped bring my inflammation markers down. If they haven't done crp and sed rate suggest. Hospitalist during my readmit didn't do them. My cardiologist did and they... Read more.
Hey John I am sorry to hear. Hospitals stays suck and I feel bad for you. Hopefully things clear up quickly and you can get back home soon. Sometimes recovery has its downs as I know with the C Diff that I went through. Keep fighting and get out of... Read more.

John - Sorry to hear you're back in the hospital. Focus on healing and take care of yourself. It will all be worth it when your health is restored. You will get there. ❤
John, I am sorry to hear you are having a set back! Sucks! Keep looking ahead, man. You’ll get there. Praying for swift resolution! 🤞
I am so sorry... it is hard, I know it is. I, too, had a pericardial effusion and it was tough. I just wanted to be fully recovered and move on. Hoping you’re receiving great care and this is just a blip on the radar.
Feel better. Prayers for a quick recovery and resolution to this setback.

Unrealistic Expectations After OHS This may get lengthy, but I wanted to share my thought and feelings with the group who will hopefully understand my thoughts .. Ist off I'm 65 , I’ve had heart issue for many years primarily Afib since 1991 , I had mild Mitral Valve Regurgitation... Read more.
My ocular migraines were much worse for months after OHS. It took 8-9 months for them to decrease. Now at 2 years they are a rare event. They should get better. i am also 65, and my body is not quite the machine it was in the past. I still... Read more.
Hi John, I too had Afib and flutter issues after my OHS in March of this year. It got worse for me week by week and left me bed ridden with several admissions to emergency. I would be down to below 40 beats per minute and then if I rolled... Read more.
I'm sorry recovery is going tough for you John, but I do think 3 months is really still very early. And the aftermath of cancer treatment is so stressful, body & mind - I'm a survivor too but mine was 9 years ago- having heart surgery on the heels of... Read more.
You deserve a break John. I relate to all your feelings 3 months after surgery. I still was out of breath. I still am sometmes. It wasn't until well over a year after OHS that I felt better. And then I had cancer again. For the 3rd time. Heavy sigh.... Read more.
Hey John I am sorry to hear that you have gone through so much in your recovery. Going through two major medical events must be hard and tough on the body. I pray that things get better for you in the weeks to come. Hang in there buddy.
Before my OHS in July 2018 I got ocular migraines like once a year, but now I get them regularly, maybe once a week. Especially after I exercise. I'm hoping they diminish. I don't usually get a headache, just the vision disturbance that lasts like 10 minutes and kind of... Read more.
