Despite a calcium score of 0 and a clear carotid ultrasound, a CCTA and abdominal CT were ordered as part of prep for mitral valve repair surgery. Got results from a OneOme RightMed genetic test in time to head off metoprolol (CYP3A4 variants) and use short acting propranolol and ivabadrine to get heart rate down to 60 for the CT. Calcium score still 0, no anomalies. Abdominal CT showed existing large fibroid and large kidney cyst; added slight lung mucoid impactions, trace pleural effusions, prominent mediastinal lymph nodes (helps explain coughing and slight SOB) and, darn it, what is probably a gallbladder pseudocyst/stone starting to form. S

So my heart failure cardiologist's photo was no longer displayed with her name in MyChart. My last visit with her, I had asked for her support before and after my mitral valve repair scheduled for March. Two messages later, turns out she's out on maternity leave until April. Have to get a thoracic CT and CT angiogram scheduled locally before the surgery, and very concerned about the contrast due to a prior reaction, so want to see someone prior. Of course it was no longer possible to schedule an appt with my general cardiologist through MyChart because it was a few days past a year that I had last seen him. Called, made my way through the menus, waited through the on hold music and announcements, explained why I wanted an appt, they need to schedule a "fit in" in January, will call me back. H
