Let me tell you about my experience. In 2006, I was told that I have a hole in my heart, and I will need a bubble test. So I went back for the test, but they couldn't find the hole. Instead they saw the aortic aneurysm. They measured it at 4.3cm, and told me I can wait. I am not at risk. Decided to go for a second opinion to the one of the best teaching hospitals, Stanford Hospital. The minute my Dr. looked at my Echo, he knew immediately that I have a BAV measured at 4.8cm. He said, you better get this repaired as soon as possible. My theory is that the best clinics/hospitals have the best equipment. I would strongly recommend to find the best of the best and take your daughter. If I would have waited like the first doctor said I could, I could have had a dissection. I don't mean to scare you, but I am so happy that I went for that second opinion. Even better still, I found a fantastic surgeon for my second OHS, and I feel better than ever. Quality equipment is key! I wish you all the best for you and your daughter!
