Gee it is coming up fast! Still have not picked the valve!! I think it is the hardest Choice to make for this surgery! If anyone out there has any advise I would LOVE it! I am thinking of the ON-X Valve Mechanical or the Magna Ease by Edwards..I am... Read more.
I am leaning mechanical. I don't want to go through this again, if I can help it. But it's a really personal choice. Best wishes in coming to your decision!
I am up for a mitral valve repair on October 5. My surgeon is 95% sure that the repair is possible, but has strongly advised the mechanical in the event he needs to replace, since his experience with tissue valves is maybe 10-15 years, and I am 63.
I went tissue to stay away from Coumadin even though I am 47. It is the Edwards valve. Hoping technology comes along by the time I need replacement. Tavr was just approved for moderate risk patients, so it will be coming to low risk soon. That means ohs may be... Read more.

I have a few more days till I have surgery for Aortic Stenosis to have a valve replaced. I have been anemic or it would have been done a little while ago! I am soo torn as to which valve to go with.I am a somewhat active 60 yr old... Read more.
