Each day has become more the norm...sleeping more than 2 to 3 hours is difficult...much time is spent taking care of the body....incentive spirometer every hour....coughing to keep lungs clear, trying to maintain activity level prescribed and balance rest is a challenge. Some sob is to be expected, give it a few more weeks it will improve. Sounds like your doing pretty well overall in your recovery!

Home on post op day 5. Sleeping is most difficult part of process...finding comfortable position for more than 2 hours.. New valve in place iin aorta....during proceedure, right femoral artery and vein tore...so 3 more hours of surgery for total of six hours.. Just have to accept a slightly slower... Read more.

Tomorrow, August 8th,is my Aortic Valve replacement day....looking forward to the post-op side to begin. After that journey, looking forward to resuming my life.
