I'm 71, have had Aortic Stenosis diagnosed about 3 years ago. Asymptomatic but getting quite severe so on the list for the op. Love reading everyone's stories here -- very inspiring. Can't say I'm not a bit scared!! Always been super fit, was a huge shock to discover such news.... Read more.

Yes, getting the news that you need heart surgery was a shock for me as well. But as you see , there are lots of us who have been through it. You will get through this as well! Just take one day and one doctor visit at a time, and... Read more.
It is scary. This site allows you to share your fears and questions which I found invaluable. Its really nice to know you are not alone and to hear from people that truly have been through the exact things you will go through physically and mentally❤️
Yes, a bit surreal when they say it's time for surgery. This site is awesome
