I am 2 1/2 years post aortic valve replacement and doing very well. I have noticed increased palpitations, not an increased heart rate but rather a pounding feeling. I still get that pounding feeling 3 yrs out. I think we just feel our heart more. It certainly beats faster and harder. I've always been told i was fine but a Holter can't hurt.

I am 14 weeks post op. Recovering slowly but surely! My blood pressure remains low but pretty sure is due to Metoprolol( lowest dose). Just had some follow up blood work and liver enzymes have remained elevated. They have even gone up a little. My doctor has scheduled ultrasound. No... Read more.

I am so thankful to be on the recovery side, even though it is slow going. Surgery for avr went well. The pain I have is not from incision but rather neck shoulder and back pain. I continue to take advil/Tylenol on a regular basis and I'm anxious to stop... Read more.

Ask for a physical therapist to help you with neck and back pain. It's probably from supporting your head and arms all day. Make sure that when you are resting that your head is supported by a travel pillow (the U-shaped type) or a t-shirt rolled up and put around... Read more.

I had bad back and neck pain. Was given some muscle relaxers for a bit. Used a tennis ball to roll between the shoulder blades which helped a ton. Also heat helped. Takes a few weeks to subside but will get better.
