About Me

I first learned I had a heart murmur about 35 years ago during my first pregnancy. After an echo, I was told it was an innocent, functional murmur. Four years ago my family doctor ordered my 2nd echo which showed sclerosis. This past October (2015) at a routine physical, another echo showed stenosis. I was referred to a cardiologist and a stress test came out abnormal. On Dec 9th, I had a heart catheterization which indicated severe stenosis and replacement was recommended. I have had few symptoms other than some fatigue. We have recently moved to the mountains and I tire easily walking these hills. I thought I just wasn't use to it. It has all come as a surprise but I am thankful it can be fixed!! Looking forward to reading everyone's stories. It is good to know you aren't alone!!
