Did anyone have a need to ever disclose aortic stenosis or other valve disease to your employer in a office type job ? I personally believe that I can perform my office type / software job without disclosure of my medical history to my employer ? Although when time comes... Read more.
Hi, Ashok, I have had an IT/ software job now for about 12 years, and I have always disclosed my heart condition to my managers and co-workers. Over the years, I have had so many appointments and some of them are long (hours or days), so I wanted them to... Read more.

How do people manage meds and travel with a mechanical valve ? The time zone , diet would change with travel . How is INR maintained in such a situation ? My job needs me to travel and I am too young for a tissue valve
Hi, Ashok: have you considered the Ross Procedure?

is there any restriction on diet with the on-x valve I am facing a critical decision to go for AVR due to a bicuspid valve and I am young 26 I travel a lot and my diet is not consistent can you give me your advice
With an On-X, you would need to take warfarin/Coumadin daily. Foods with high amounts of Vitamin K (especially green vegetables) alter the anticoagulating effects of the medication, so it's best to be fairly consistent with diet and to have the dosage fitted to your eating habits.
I have an On-X mechanical valve. I do have to be consistent with green vegetables but I eat anything else (in moderation). Next week is my 3 year valve anniversary.
