Dear fellow heart patients, I had my first valve repair in 2010 at Holy Cross hospital in Ft. Lauderdale. The surgeon used the DaVinci robotic procedure. The outcome was favorable yet the leak was not sealed 100% however, the valve held up until winter of last year. I delayed and postponed surgery several times over the next 10 months-mostly out of fear-until finally choosing October 14th, in N.Y.C with Dr. David Adams. The surgical team at Mt. Sinai is top notch. This time, the operation would include a sternotomly and a tri-cuspid repair. Now, 16 weeks post-op I'm as good as new.
