Send Tee a NoteAbout Me
Leaky mitral valves run in my family. Sadly, my older brother died 22 years ago at age 41 of cardiac arrest, and an autopsy showed he had very bad MVP and an enlarged heart. He wasn't under the care of a cardiologist. After he died, everyone in my family went to a cardiologist. My Dad had to have a replacement, and my twin brother had a repair about 15 years ago, and now, it appears, is my turn. After neglecting to see my cardiologist for three years, my condition went from "moderate" to "severe." While waiting for my surgery, I went into afib about a month ago, had a cardioversion, and am on coumadin and amiodarone, which made me feel sick. Soon after the afib, I developed a weird sort of weak feeling on my entire left side, but numerous tests ruled out stroke or any serious neurological symptoms, thank goodness. My docs say it may be a pinched nerve or stress related. Weird IMO.
Advice welcome!
