I was diagnosed in 2011after an EKG came back abnormal. I was going into the hospital for an Endometrial Ablation and needed the EKG before surgery. It was in the moderate range at that time. During the past few years they have kept a close eye on it with several echocardiograms, 2 TEE test and a stress test. This January I found out it has moved to the severe stage and will need surgery within the year. I am seeing a surgeon in April and have done some research and read a few books. But wanted to join a community to understand other peoples stories on the surgery. I will be 50 this year, my heart is in good shape other than the valve. I did well on my stress test and am showing very few symptoms.
