About Me

I'm a 60 year old woman who has had long-standing mitral valve prolapse identified by a heart murmur as a kid. After all these years of watchful waiting, I was warned 2 echos ago that surgery would most likely be in my future. After my last echo, the future got a whole lot closer. Long story short, I went into research mode and just about memorized Dr. Adams' (Mt. Sinai) website. My local cardiologist seconded my opinion that he was the man for the job, so I scheduled a TEE and a cardiac cath and had my consult with him and the team in February. Surgery is scheduled for May 11. Surgery over!! Mt. Sinai, 5/11. Home on 5/18 with a nicely repaired mitral valve and he threw in a repaired Tricuspid valve because I'm just so damned cute.
