My PCP detected a heart murmur during my annual exam on May 9, 2023. Have had an echocardiogram performed and the initial diagnosis is mitral valve prolapse/regurgitation. Had Blood Culture which was negative for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria and fungi. Scheduled for a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) on July 7th. Have a good idea who my surgeon might be if valve repair/replacement is recommended. But of course will seek a second opinion. Currently asymptomatic. So, I went ahead and scheduled the surgery for September 8th. Cardiac Catheterization to occur the day before. For some reason can't add my hospital. But it is Morristown Medical Center.
