I don't use social media but when I found this site I thought it might be helpful, great information thank you Adam.
I am 64 years old and I consider myself pretty healthy. I have always been very active living in Southern California. Me and my wife decided that in 2019 we would turn over our Swimming Pool service & maintenance business to my son so we could enjoy life before we got too old to travel. To do this we had to make adjustments including our medical insurance so we switched to UCLA Health. On our 1st visit with the doctor for our annual check up she asked if anybody had ever told me I had a slight heart murmur which I replied no. Doctor Tsoi mentioned that it's not a problem we just keep an eye on it.
Fast forward 1 year 2020 covid-19 hit So we had to postpone our annual visit to late July. Dr. Tosi didn't like what she heard so she ordered an ultrasound. Referring to me to a cardiologist, Dr. Thakkar looked at the results and ordered more tests. Come to find out it had progressed to moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation. Dr. Thakkar referred to A surgeon at UCLA Health in Westwood Dr. Shemin. After looking at the test results he determined the mitral valve was severe and it should be repaired soon. We scheduled the surgery for January 19th but due to cauvet 19 surge here in California we had to reschedule to February 12.
