I have known for about ten years that I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve. Besides the bicuspid I developed an aortic aneurysm and a hole between the left and right ventricles. I did some research and contacted UW Health’s Congenital Heart Department. All have been on a watch basis until a few weeks ago when I was asked to do a stress test due to the results of my ultrasound and symptoms. Based upon the stenosis I was told that I would need surgery soon.
