Send Ken a NoteAbout Me
Although I'd been having symptoms for some time, they were bearable — until this fall. I finally went to the doctor for diagnosis on October 2, 2014. Over the following two weeks, I had an echocardiogram and coronary angiogram, followed by consultations with a cardiologist and a heart surgeon.
I learned I have atrial fibrillations as well as critical-stage aortic stenosis (accompanied by aortic regurgitation, or leakage).
Open-heart surgery is required to replace the aortic valve. During the surgery, the 'MAZE' procedure will be done to, hopefully, resolve the fibrillation issue.
I have more to share, which is found in My Journal (click on "My Journal" above).
For those of you who want to learn more about aortic stenosis, you can read about it here (copy and paste this link into your browser): http://www.heart-valve-surgery.com/aortic-stenosis-valve-heart-narrowing.php
