I have had Mitral Valve Prolapse about 11 yrs now. My cardiologist just told me it is leaking much more than it should and surgery is my next step. I am 57 yrs old and in good health. I have visited 2 surgeons and I have appointments to see 2 more. My husband and I have been doing a lot of research and I am learning so much about my MVP. As you can imagine I am scared to death about having open heart surgery. It is suggested I have it very soon so I am hoping to pick a surgeon by beginning of February. I have been reading the blogs and Its comforting to know others are in my position. Any help you can give me is much appreciated.
