After about 25 years with the same PCP, I switched to a new, younger primary care doctor, who on my first visit in December 2022, detected a heart gallop. This was new information for me. After a series of the standard sonograms and TEE's I was diagnosed with Moderate/Severe Mitral Regurgitation. I am scheduled for Mitral Valve Repair on July 27, 2023. I am preparing that the repair will be successful, but am struggling with the valve replacement decision, in the unfortunate event of an unsuccessful repair.
