I am 53. I was recently diagnosed with Aortic Stenosis and at first, I was terrified! I was crying every day and thinking that my life was over. I went for a regular checkup and my doctor said she heard a murmur and sent me to a cardiologist to check it out. I did not think much about it because I knew I had a murmur since I was a little girl and thinking it was not a big deal...until.... the echo test - I have never heard about stenosis before! Of course, I started reading about it on the internet and could not believe how serious it was. I had no symptoms; it was so unexpected and simply unbelievable. Thankfully, I am in a much better place now! I finally accepted it, and I am trying to be positive and move forward. It does not mean I don’t have moments of despair and panic. Finding this website was absolutely a blessing. I love the support and sharing each other’s experiences. Sending love to everyone❤️
