Send Craig a NoteAbout Me
Hello everybody. My heart valve story starts in 1999 when I found out that I have a bicuspid, stenotic aortic valve with mild left ventricular hypertrophy. I was in the Navy at the time and consequently sent home because of it. For seven years after I pretty much ignored my problem, and went on with life working, drinking copious amounts of beer, and hanging out with friends.
in 2006 I wised up and figured that I should have a cardiologist monitor my condition. I was alright up until june of this year when my cardiologist told me that my heart has enlarged a little more and it was time to consider surgery. A TEE performed in july confirmed that my aortic valve has become super leaky, and now my body is confirming that it is super leaky also. I was referred to Dr. Joseph Derose at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, and am now awaiting a surgery date. I am scheduled for a cardiac catheterization on August 28th, and then I have to schedule a CT afterwards, and then I guess I'll find out my surgery date.
That's my story folks. when I find out my actual surgery date I'll post it, but it should be soon.
