I'm 42 years old, married with 2 wonderful boys. After being diagnosed years ago with mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation, the leak in my valve has become severe and the time to fix it has come. I have chosen to go to the Cleveland Clinic for the procedure. The plan is to have the valve repaired via a minimally invasive, robotic procedure performed by Dr. Marc Gillinov. Samantha and I fly to Cleveland this Sunday (9/18). After a couple of days of tests and meetings, surgery is scheduled for Thursday (9/22). Thanks again to Grandma Yonker for staying with the boys while we're gone. Sam and I will continue to post updates as we move along in the process.
