About Me

I've known about my mitral valve since I was 7 (59 years). I was always told that progression was possible. Earlier this year I could no longer work around my amazing yard without getting so winded and tired. Tests showed it was time to do the surgery. I must admit that I was so scared. Found your website and started to feel much more confident. I'm at 6 days and home yesterday. Only hiccup has been post surgery afib. Controled with meds that I should come off of in a few weeks. If I can get this elephant off my sternum I'll be all set. My surgeons are amazing. Thanks to your site I was able to find answers to most of my question. My new heart and I thank you I'm back (05/24). Will be having a second surgery soon. Don't exactly know what we're going to do but figure a valve replacement this time. Here we go again.
