I am a Registered nurse for 32 years. For 25 years of my career I have worked with fresh open heart surgery patients . I have taken care of hearts since 1976. and now it is my turn to experience the other side. I Found out 3 years ago I have a bicuspid that is becoming stenotic first mild to moderate and now critical needing to be replaced. At first I wanted to go to the Cleveland clinic they are the best. But I feel my hospital is the best and we have a great surgeon. He has done hundreds of patients and I have recovered at least 50 - 100 of his patients and they do amazing. In 1976 when I began taking care of open heart surgeries at Encino hospital those were great surgeon but 25 year later I was taking care of John Robertsons post AVR patients and I remember coming home and telling my husband "his surgeries are like having your tonsils out " The patient were off the ventilator the same day and OOB in the chair. I also have a 4cm Ascending aortic aneurysm..so I need someone who knew how to handle the aneurysm repair.
