Send Betty a NoteAbout Me
On December 16, 2013, I had my 3rd open heart surgery. I was diagnosed with a leaky tricuspid valve, an obstructed mitral valve or mitral stenosis. They replaced the mitral with a mechnical valve; and the tricuspid was replaced with a biological tissue valve. I also received a new pacemaker and wires. During my 2nd open heart, bands were put around the mitral and tricuspid valves to help with the leaking and regurgitation. I was born with ASD, a hole that did not close up, and my mitral valve needed repair. They closed up the hole, which was bigger then a 50 cent piece, and reconstructed it with teflon, and repaired the valve. After my 2nd surgery, I had a pacemaker implanted for rhythm problems, and a year later, a heart ablation.
