After experiencing a panic attack in 2016 at the age of 40, I was referred to a cardiologist for follow-up. After many tests, it was discovered that I was born with a bicuspid aortic valve and also have a left bundle branch block. My valve has mild to moderate regurgitation. My mother unexpectedly passed away at the age of 66 on September 11, 2020, and after reviewing her medical records, she also had a left bundle branch block and three leaky valves. Unbeknownst to us, she was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 2015. I am striving to stay on top of my health for my family. As of right now, no surgery is scheduled and hopefully I will not need one anytime soon.
