Good luck with your surgery. My cardiologist was pushing ( lightly) for savr for my aortic stenosis as I also have moderate calcification of the mitral valve. I emphatically told him no as Iâ€™m an active 80 and am really afraid that savr will leave me an old, disabled man.... Read more.

@Joanne, where are you getting the 5 years from? I thought it's more like 10-15 years. In some unfortunate cases it can be 5 years or less. In some cases it's more than 15 years. And it depends on the patient's age and other factors.
