How old were you when you had procedure. I am 64 yrs old and will need AVR surgery in near future. Do not want open heart surgery !

Loved reading your post! Today, 02-20-20, is my husband’s 3 month anniversary - bicuspid aortic valve replacement and myectomy done at Northwestern Memorial Hospital by Dr. Chris Malaisrie. He is on the road to recovery and just started cardiac rehab. Can’t wait to show him your post

Hi Dan. I am 4 months post op. I had bicuspid valve and I received the same valve and also a Dacron graft to replace an aortic aneurysm. I recommend you read the book "Prevent & Reverse Heart Disease" by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn Jr of Cleveland Clinic. Good way to... Read more.
