Hi Clay, I am a 65 year young athletic woman who needs to have a heart valve replacement. I can't decide between mechanical and tissue. I NEED HELP!

Janet, I am not much younger than you. I would choose tissue. When that one wears out, you will qualify for TAVR, which, is not much different than having an angiogram. Between the two valves, that should give you about 25 years. I am trying to keep away from blood... Read more.
