I'll be having my 2nd Aortic Valve replacement May 3rd. Nine years ago (May 17, 2013) I had a tissue valve to replace the Bicuspid Aortic Valve which is now failing and has to be replaced. After several meetings and discussions with my doctors we have decided to go with the Ross Procedure this time with a Mechanical Valve as the backup. Really tired and ready to get the surgery over with so I can feel better and get back to my active self! So happy I have a great team of doctors at the UW Hospital in Madison Wisconsin and happy to be able to share my story with so many of you on this site that have similar experiences. It definitely helps to have support of others who have walked the same path!
